Stuff Happens

Stuff Happens........

Living in an RV presents some challenges sometimes. For us, one of these challenges was the dreaded black water holding tank or, as we call it, "the poop tank". You are supposed to dump it before it reaches 3/4 full, but sometimes you forget or get too busy or keep putting it off for tomorrow....which we all know that tomorrow never comes! We should have dumped our tank BEFORE we ever left Idaho. But we didn't. Instead we decided to do it once we got to Worthington. Instead we slept! Why? Because it took us about 6-7 hours LONGER then we expected to get to Minnesota and we were tired, hungry and a little cranky....especially after having our propane tanks fall off! Anyway, the low temperatures froze our "poop tank" into one big poopsicle....which then became slushy at times, but never quite thawed. We kept waiting for a "warm day" but that just doesn't happen in Minnesota! On top of that, Luke never got enough antifreeze in the water lines and forgot to take the filter housing off of the fresh water filter! The feeling of imminent doom lurked as we thought about the mess we would have once the poop thawed. "Please God NOT a busted poop tank!!! Pleeeease!!!" At first Luke's internet searches resulted in how these tanks freeze and split and cause all kinds of problems. Poor Luke was very stressed, tired and just ready for some good news to say the least! The good news came! We managed to make it back to Ohio.....poop tank in one piece and even was able to empty it! "Thank You God!"
