Luke was wide awake and ready to keep truckin' through the wee early hours of the morning, but I was about to pass out so we decided it would be best to just drive through the night. Luke really enjoys driving and even more so at night, so while the kids and I all slept Luke drove. Luke drove the 300 miles from Mid Iowa to Mid Nebraska through the night until he decided he needed to pull over for some shut eye. The plan was just a 30min "eye rest" in the car, but that turned into a 2hr sleep! We just left the van idling and the heat on while Luke got some shut eye. I was in the back with Ephraim who was complaining of "hurting feet", pretty sure they fell asleep and were just tingling. I laid down with him on the floor by the heater vent and made a little heated fort from the blowing air. Just when Ephraim would have fallen back to sleep Jireh woke up and realized Ephraim wasn't in his car seat and started freaking out, so I pulled her out of her seat too and we all just laid on the floor quietly....until Havilah woke up hungry! LOL So all us kids and I had a quiet party on the floor of the van, while Daddy slept! I was very impressed with how quiet the kids were. I turned on a CD with Disney characters reading different nursery rhymes that goes with a read-along-book which kept Ephraim and Jireh occupied for a full hour while I took care of Havilah. By the time all three kids had changed diapers/ went potty and were dressed Luke woke up and was ready to start driving again. He told me he had a dream about Mickey mouse talking to him! hahaha Luke felt bad that he slept for 2hrs...I felt bad that he only got 2hrs and that there were 3 kids awake in the back! Oh well, I guess had we known we would be stopped for more then 30 mins we would have gone into the trailer.
